Walid al-Moallem: Syria is ready to cooperate to resolve the crisis
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said during his meeting with the UN Special Envoy to Syria, Neuer Pedersen, that Syria is ready to cooperate to activate Syrian-Syrian dialogue to reach a political settlement.
Al-Moallem stressed that the main goal is to eliminate terrorism and the departure of foreign forces, which is located illegally, from the entire Syrian territory, and effectively preserve the unity, sovereignty, and independence of Syria.
Pedersen also stressed that he will make every effort to reach a political solution that takes into account the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and the relevant Security Council resolutions, stressing the commitment of the United Nations to the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and unity of the country and its people.
The UN Special Envoy to Syria, Norwegian Neir Pedersen, arrived in Damascus on Tuesday from his first visit since taking office to revive the political process.
