Armed elements assassinate media activists in the countryside of Idlib
Unknown gunmen on Friday killed media activists Raed al-Faris and Hamoud Junaid in the southern town of Kefernbal, south of Idlib, in a security operation aimed at media action following a series of arrests of activists by some military parties.
Raed al-Fares is considered one of the most prominent activists in the popular Syrian movement. He played a prominent role in covering the events of the Syrian revolution. He founded many media institutions and played a prominent role in organizing the popular movement. He preferred to continue his work despite all the difficulties within the Syrian interior.
Hamoud Junaid is a media activist working for the Radio Fresh team founded by him in the city of Kefernbal. He has extensive work and coverage in the province, during which he transmitted the facts and events of the Syrian revolution over the past years.
According to reporter of sy 24, the two activists were shot dead by unidentified assailants traveling in a van in the eastern part of the city of Kefernnbal, where they opened fire directly at them, killing them immediately.
