Iranian official: We will not enter into any conflict with Russia about its presence in Syria
The deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier General Hussein Salami, said that his country does not intend to enter into any conflict with Russia about its presence in Syria and that its presence is legitimate but not long-term.
“The Iranian presence in Syria came at the request of the Syrian government, and there is no far-reaching strategy,” said Brigadier General Salami, deputy commander-in-chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, on what was said about the Iranian presence in Syria and the alleged dispute in some media between Iran and Russia. Iran never intends to enter into a conflict with the Russians, and what has been promoted in the media is shameful.
It is noteworthy that Alexander Lavrentyev, the special envoy of the Russian President to resolve the Syrian crisis will visit Tehran tomorrow and meet with Ali Shamkhani Secretary of the Iranian National Security Council
