America: Half of Syrian territory under the control of Washington’s allies
“The head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, can believe he won the war, but in fact he controls only half of the territory in Syria and half the population is not under his control,” said James Jeffrey, the US official in charge of the Syrian file.
Pointing out that the other half of Syria is under the control of US allies and partners, including Turks and Kurds in northern and eastern Syria.
“Al-Assad regime is without a real economy and can not access resources from fuel and gas and has no role in reconstruction because the United States is part of this process backed by a strong majority of the European Union,” he said.
It is worth noting that the United States earlier confirmed the survival of its troops in Syria until the final defeat of the organization (Da’ash), pointing out that this is the only military mission of the United States in the war-torn country and it is not wider.
